How Alber e-motion battery regeneration works, step by step
Axis · Updated:
You can get your Alber e-motion battery regenerated by Axis without leaving home: fill in the form, we send you a ready-made courier label (DHL, DPD or UPS) and packing instructions, and you ship just the batteries, without the wheels or charger. The regeneration itself, including testing, usually takes 3–5 working days, plus shipping each way: usually 1–2 days within Poland and 2–4 working days within the European Union.
Every day without your wheelchair counts
When your e-motion wheels stop working, life can grind to a halt. It gets harder to leave the house, do the shopping or make it to an appointment. That's why the repair time matters at least as much as the price. With the authorised service route, waiting times depend on the distributor and the country, and can be hard to predict. Our aim is to keep your time without the wheelchair to an absolute minimum, and to tell you up front roughly how long it will take.
The regeneration process in 6 steps
- You tell us about your battery. Fill in the order form: give your wheel model (e.g. M15, M25) and describe the symptoms, such as short range, cutting out on slopes or error messages. You send us only the batteries, without the wheels or charger.
- You get a ready-made label. We generate a courier label (DHL, DPD or UPS) and send you instructions for packing safely. Stick on the label and hand the parcel over. You don't need to know the rules for shipping lithium batteries.
- Free diagnostics. We open the housing and measure the resting voltage, the internal resistance of the cells and the condition of the BMS, micro-switches and charging sockets. If we find any other faults, we contact you before starting work.
- Cell replacement. We build a new pack from brand-new, branded cells spot-welded with pure nickel strip and connect it to the original Alber electronics.
- Load testing. Every battery goes through a full charge and controlled discharge cycle. We check capacity, voltage stability and temperature.
- The battery comes back to your door. We pack it in line with the regulations for lithium batteries (UN3480, UN3481) and send it by courier straight to you.
How long it takes: a realistic timeline
The total time is made up of two courier journeys and the work in our workshop. Below are typical figures; the actual time depends on your country, the carrier and what the diagnostics show.
| Stage | Poland | European Union |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping to our workshop | usually 1–2 days | usually 2–4 working days |
| Diagnostics, regeneration and testing | usually 3–5 working days | usually 3–5 working days |
| Return shipping | usually 1–2 days | usually 2–4 working days |
| Total (approximate) | approx. 5–9 working days | approx. 7–13 working days |
That's days, not months. If the diagnostics reveal a fault beyond the cells (for example in the electronics or the motor), we'll get in touch before doing anything more, and we'll decide together what to do next.
How to prepare the battery for shipping
After you order, you'll get simple instructions. In short:
- take the batteries out of the wheels; you don't send the wheelchair, the wheels or the charger,
- wrap each battery in bubble wrap,
- put them in a sturdy cardboard box with padding so nothing can move around,
- stick on the label we generate for you and send the parcel.
If the battery is swollen, cracked, getting very hot or smells burnt, don't pack it yourself. Contact us first and we'll tell you how to handle it safely.
What you get back
You get the same battery back, with its original Alber housing, sockets and control electronics, but with a new cell pack inside. That means your remote, the mobile app and the original charger work with the wheels exactly as they did before regeneration. There's nothing to pair and nothing new to get used to. The battery comes with a 12-month written warranty.
